Dear Governor Abbott,
We have a serious injustice that I would like to ask for your help in bringing to a close.
- Two years ago it was proven in Williamson County Court, that Greg Kelley, a devout Christian was innocent of the false charges against him of indecency with a 4-year-old child.
- During a 3-Day Hearing in 2017, Judge Donna King, 26th Judicial District Court, recommended Greg Kelley be declared “actually innocent.”
- Williamson County District Attorney Shawn Dick, apologized to the parents of the little boy at the close of the hearing I attended on August 4, 2017.
- The person who most likely committed this crime is currently in prison.
- For 2 years, the appeals court has failed to make a final decision on this case.
Your assistance to help, correct this injustice is needed because for the last 6 years, Greg Kelley’s life has been totally decimated and he is unable to move on with a normal college life, job, marriage and family until this wrongful conviction is removed and his name is cleared.
As I studied his case over the past 5 years, I have learned to see things differently
Today I reecognize…
There was only ONE piece of evidence that could be used in this crime
That evidence was terribly flawed
If they knew all the facts…
no reasonable jury would convict a person of this crime
In any moment of decision, the best thing I can do is the right thing, the next best thing is the wrong thing, and the worst thing I can do is nothing.
Theodore Roosevelt
… I cannot do nothing
With sincere appreciation for all you do,
Joel Sano
